The walk starts just off the the  road from Felanitx to Porto Colom
there is an Eroski  supermarket close by  and can be found open on
Sundays 10-2pm.  The main guarda civil offfice is near the start of
the walk up to,San Salvador which is well signposted "San Salvador".
This is a walk where you will find yourself always twisting and
turning upwards. You can follow the tarmac road or take a more direct
track route using the pathways between the trees as you clamber ever
upward towards the top . As the climb begins you will pass a small
mallorcan chapel, a reminder to the legend that a shepherd and his dog
found a statue of the virgin there, suggesting why the the building of
this beautiful old  monastery which is to be found at the summit.
The views are  panoramic  to the degree of being spectacular.Clear
blue skies to be found on the way up  make it even more impressive
when you reach the top of one of the high spots on the island of
Mallorca. On clear days you are able to see the mountains and hills of
Alcudia down to the island of Cabrera  some people say you can see
across to Minorca but not Ibiza You are positioned 508mts high at the
top and look down on Felantix and north is Manacor.

At the top take time out to stroll around the areas of the monastery,
visit the small prayer room where people have left dedications to
family and friends past and present of the mallorcan island. Visiting
this room leaves one with a profound experience of wealth and well
